5 out of 5 stars Science Fiction Movies   July 21, 2010
Lynda Carrion (Bronx, NY USA)
Great Sci-Fi. Leonard Nemoy William Shatner and DeForest Kelley were exceptional in this trilogy. And let us not forget Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig George Takei and James Doohan. And the great Ricardo Montalban.
My husband and I have watched Star Trek since it first aired. And so I purchased this trilogy as a Father's Day gift for him and it was like watching a little kid seeing it for the first time, he even cried when Spock died. Is he a Trekkie or what?

5 out of 5 stars Beautifully Remastered!   July 11, 2010

I grew up watching Star Trek and really enjoyed these three movies when they were in the theatre. The transition to Blu-ray is exceptional in these, unlike other companies they've remastered the movies first and it shows. If you like Star Trek, your gonna love these. I've gotten into the habit of first renting a movie I like in Blu-ray before purchasing it, due to couple of major disappointments which is what convinced me to get this trilogy. My advice is view a movie first and look into all the added features and behind the action scenes and see if it's worth the price, if not wait until it comes down into a price range you think is fair.

5 out of 5 stars I am glad that they released this Star Trek Trilogy this way   July 4, 2010

I truly understand why they did release this Star Trek Trilogy as they did. These three stories belong together. This is a high quality, very entertaining trilogy that left out all the surrounding garbage (two of the other movies) that I wouldn't ever want to watch again anyway.

Star Trek: The Motion(less) Picture is boring as all hell. And Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, was absolutely the worst of the entire Star Trek motion picture franchise. You will notice that Star Trek I and V are not even released separately. But, yet they had the good sense to release Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as it's own separate release.

I'm happy to have this Star Trek Trilogy as it's own separate entity (all three of these stories that belong together). And buying Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country is perfect as it own separate lone story with the original Star Trek cast, and serving as a departure for the original cast.

I wouldn't bother buying Star Trek I or V on their own because they did truly absolutely sucked! But, for the absolute Star Trek die-hard fan, they did release the entire six movie series as a complete box set. I personally don't want that. But, I respect that some people do. This Star Trek Trilogy makes perfect sense being released as it is.

If it were up to me, I would have suggested that these three movies should be released together. They must have read my mind.

Great price for 3 great movies. However, I was somewhat disappointed that the set did not include the first movie of the series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

4 out of 5 stars Star Trek Trilogy Blue Ray   March 14, 2010

These are old favorites that I haven't seen in years (and then on Beta-Max!) Both audio and video are very good. As others have noted, the remaster of TWOK is fantastic. If you're a fan, you can't go wrong with these.
